In her series ‘Absence’ Hannah searches for presence in absence. She portrays garments and objects from daily life, as artefacts. The human body gets liveliness from its round forms. Nothing about a human body is hollow. The collapsed contours of a garment, left without a second thought, are the imprint of that liveliness. Casings of life passed. A symbol for death. This work is made of clay, a material that brings out the subjectivity of the maker by emphasising her touch.
